There's a gallery at display on the left side of the page, documenting the progression of the sketch based off of the Three Servicemen, Washington, D.C. On the right, however, a message lies within the artwork; the blood resembles death, suicide, and trauma, with the black smoke symbolizing the discrimination the Vietnam veterans faced when returning to the U.S. initially.

How Americans Memorialize Veterans is an essay that I've worked on continuously throughout September, being a compare/contrast of the struggles that American Vietnam veterans have faced, in correlation to how American Iraq/Afghanistan veterans are being treated.

My historical fiction story, Hailey's Letters, is a mock-up of Life's Last Letters Home, which is based off HBO's document with the same title.
